Site concept: placeholder name, logo and photos. Your own photos, colours and words go in on the real build
How the move works

From the old builder to WordPress, without losing a thing

The old site builder has no WordPress export, so this is a careful rebuild on your new hosting, not a copy and paste. Here is exactly how it is done

1. What moves across

Every pageHome, about and policy pages, rebuilt in the new design
Every blog postText, photos at full quality, dates and categories (events, interviews, mini series, tips)
The shopEvery product, category, photo and price, with card checkout
BookingsLive sessions bookable from a calendar, with automatic confirmation emails
Mailing listSubscribers exported and reconnected, so nobody has to sign up again
Customer accountsKept if you want them, or replaced with simple guest checkout

2. Keeping Google traffic and shared links

Every old address gets a permanent redirect to its new home, so links in old emails, social posts and Google results keep working

/f/post-name→ /journal/post-name/
/ols/products/card-name→ /shop/card-name/
/ols/categories/postcard→ /shop/postcards/
/about-page→ same address, kept

Page titles and descriptions are carried over, and a fresh sitemap is sent to Google on launch day

3. Photos, kept sharp and fast

Originals are saved at full quality, then served in modern formats at the right size for each screen. Photos stay crisp on a big monitor and load quickly on a phone

4. Built on a private copy first

Week 1WordPress installed on your hosting, design set up with your colours, fonts and logo
Week 2All pages, posts and products moved, shop and bookings tested with real test orders
ReviewYou click through the private copy and ask for any changes
LaunchDomain pointed to the new site, redirects switched on, old site kept as a backup until you are happy

5. Posting a new story yourself, in 5 steps

  1. Log in and click Posts → Add new
  2. Type your title and story
  3. Drag your photos in, they resize automatically
  4. Tick a category: events, interviews, mini series or tips
  5. Press Publish. It appears on the home page and the journal straight away

Adding a product is the same: name, photo, price, publish. A short screen-recorded guide comes with the site

6. What you own

  • Everything sits in your own hosting account from day one
  • Full admin login for you, nothing locked behind us
  • Standard WordPress, so any developer can work on it later
